Hi there! I’m currently travelling for an Intermission Year, and the best way to stay current is to follow my blog. I’ll leave my usual info up for your reference below:
My background is in running the marketing and sales arm of a Fine Art business (for my husband, Michael Binkley, stone sculptor) for over two decades, as well as running my own business for over 18 years in the special events industry creating fresh florals and decor for weddings (talk about hard deadlines!).
After leaving the wedding industry I went back to school at Capilano University’s Interactive Design Program where I graduated on the Dean’s List. After working as a Digital Producer at Rethink Communications for two years, it was time to venture out into freelance world. I’ve been fortunate to connect with some of the top agencies in Vancouver, as well as some smaller, boutique strategy teams in the tech sector, working on some interesting interactive projects. After freelancing for a year in Vancouver’s digital and tech sector, I wrote this blog post.
I believe in being pro-active in Client management and utilizing team members’ strengths to ensure the best outcome for any digital project. My previous life and business experience aid me in bringing a broader skill set to the table – sometimes you need to be team champion, other times you need to go to bat for the Client – but most of the time it’s all about a fine balance.
